This is a category of my work that is extremely important to me. I believe artists have a responsibility to reflect, comment and challenge events in life they believe need changing
For example, ‘Being and Not Being’ was created as a tribute to two of the greatest exponents of Existentialism of the 20th Century – Alberto Giacometti and Jean-Paul Sartre.
Additionally, it is a comment on a toxic condition of enforced child labour which sadly exists on a global scale.
In 2024 it is estimated that there were 132 million children in enforced labour of which 56 million were forced to work in conditions that were life limiting.
